Concept2 D and E question
I am considering bitting the bullet and purchasing a new C2.
I have looked at the D and E model comparisons on the web, but wanted to know if folks here had used the models and had any advise.
I am leaning toward the D model to save the 300 bucks.
Thanks

Kevin-
I think the E is a "nicer" ride, certianly it's increased height is good if you have heavier/compromised folks using it but we have a fleet of D''s and love them. I think Grady and Rutman have spent some time on the E...guys?

We have an E at Mike's Gym. It's nice... higher off the floor, connection between front and back is a little simpler and easier and doesn't have that stupid cam piece that tends to loosen up, monitor can connect to others wirelessly.
however...
how it functions is really no different in any significant way. in fact, we had to send back the original monitor and have it replaced a couple weeks after we got it because it wasn't recharging. also, seems minor, but the way i used to move the Ds is by grabbing the back leg things, which would allow me to push/pull it but also twist it to lift one front wheel to get over smal obstacles... the new one is not as rigid in this manner and i have to just pick up the whole damn thing.
i would say save the extra few $ and even try to find a slightly used D.

Loving the D's here at CCF I've tried the E and though like Robb & Coach B. said it rides really nicely it doesn't really have much of an advantage over the D other than the height.

Late to the thread but......
There was a period earlier this year that I was putting @16k/week on a C2. They were split on a D and E.
E pro's - More solid for the rower 90kg or more in BW, taller for getting in and out of in intervals.
E Cons - $$$, takes up a bit more room
I don't think there is enough of a diff to justify the cost of a couple sets of bumperplates.
If you plan on doing indoor rowing races or training clients w/ the occasional race, the bluetooth on the PM4 monitor might be worth $200.

Gentlemen,
Thank you for all the excellent feedback I appreciate it. I do still plan on purchasing either a D or E in the future.
However if I said I had purchased a Liferower 8000 for $150 off of Craigslist would it get me banished from the PM and CF
Here is an example
http://http://www.firstfitnessequipm...iferow8500.htm
Clearly the C2's are the rowers of choice of all the various UFO crowds, but
any thoughts on how this compares with a C2 or how to utilize it to its best potential?

one more thing to add about E - the rechargable battery pack on ours has not worked eiither in the original monitor or the replacement C2 sent. have to use D-cells. Lame. Never had a problem wiith the D monitors.
