Hi Greg,
Just an observation that I find interesting. I'm 42 yrs old, 6'6" and 285 pounds and a former rugby player/power lifter. I once had a completely raw, suit, wrap and belt free 1810 total(when I was 25 and not aching all over)with a 410 bench, 700 dead and 700 squat. I can still hit a 600 dead on a good day and squat around 500 - low back style no suit or wraps or belt. But, this is not to tout numbers which are not that good anyway but rather to say that these workouts are kicking my butt!! I can barely manage a 220 C&J and my snatch is really a pathetic muscle snatch sort of thing. My form stinks. It is very humbling to work on these lifts - and yet they have brought fun back to my workouts. It's also cool to see the great work of everyone else. It's important to be humbled once in a while in life so - keep on posting the great workouts and I promise to keep humiliating myself! Also - if you are interested Mr. Reckdenwald, I have been using your workout weights as a good guide for what I should try to do. Thanks!
Thanks All

Trying to avoid a pilonidal recurrence so staying off the floor for the mini-wod today.
Nice job EFS w/ strength like that you'll be killing the lifts once you get your flexibility/technique down. |

Yes.

Glad you're enjoying it. This is a great example of how specific the needs of weightlifting are - and how "strength" isn't necessarily applicable. Keep working at it and your lifts will improve quickly. |

Greg,
I am in the second week of the program you are currently in and have a nutrition question. Through a cycle like this where there are several max efforts a week would it be advisable to add some extra protein and fat into the diet for recovery. When I do I feel I recover better but wanted your advice.
Thanks

Yes - eat what you need to train. I recommend nachos and chili-cheese onion rings. |
