Greg-
What drills or movements would you prescribe to an athlete who is not pulling under the bar fast enough? My guess is Snatch balance, but not sure at what % of snatch... Other ideas would be appreciated!

Snatch balances are good if he/she is not aggressive at the finish of the turnover, but for the actual pull under, I would work tall snatches, high-hang snatches or snatches from high blocks, and 3-position snatches (starting low and ending high). If it's a strength issue, you can also throw in some snatch high-pulls (even better from blocks or the hang) and muscle snatches.

That makes perfect sense. Thanks. Load should be at 75-80%? Is sets of 2-3?

Loading for all of those will vary considerably. Don't worry about %s - find a weight that allows the athlete to perform the exercise correctly. For high-pulls and muscle snatches, 3-5 reps.
