bone bruises
So I have a nice big deep bone bruise on my arm/elbow... and am having finding more than really basic info about it online. Would love to hear from anyone who's had one.
  • how long does it take to heal?
  • anything I can do to speed that time up?
  • any supplements I should be taking? (I can get a bunch for trade right now)

I have to get a bunch of PT (they're guessing 6 weeks or so) for other issues on that same arm, so am going to cross my fingers that I'm not out for longer than that...

Oh, also, is this supposed to hurt like hell or am I just super wimpy?

I would ask your current PT who is in charge of monitoring your previous injuries on that arm. If you want a second opinion I suggest seeking out another PT that specializes in these types of injuries.

The pain is going to depend on how severe the injury is and also on your pain threshold. Personally, I've never had a bone bruise that I was aware of but there will be some pain so don't think you're a wimp just yet. Hang in there.

I haven't been assigned a PT yet.

I have avoided going to docs for this injury because they always make me get expensive tests to tell me that nothing is wrong.

So far with this new injury my orthopedist told me I HAD to get an MRI with contrast before trying PT to make sure I didn't have bone shards and a UCL tear, so I basically spent $3000 for him to tell me to get PT which is what I should've done in the first place. Good times.
