If you are engaging in aerobic activities like tennis and swimming and doing more than lifting in the gym, you're going to want some carbs, and paleorthodoxy notwithstanding, you could do a lot worse than white rice. It doesn't have the nutrient density of most tubers, but it's a pretty inoccuous grain. Eat plenty of protein and a decent amount of fat, and it will be easier to not overeat with the rice.
