When training the Olympic lifts, develop and maintain a simple ritual when approaching the bar for each lift. This will encourage consistent starts and more successful lifts, and will allow greater focus in competition. Of course, the ritual approach applies equally well to other technical endeavors.
I agree with this suggestion consistency is key here. Unfortunately I don't think our spamming friends who posted above feel the same way!!

Seems contrary to the type of randomness the hunter gather faces when pursuing big game. You're better off mixing things up even if your lifts suffer.

Joey - you may be correct if we're talking about health, but here the issue is athletic performance. they diverge at various points depending on the sport. there is no elite weightlifter in the world who approaches his/her training randomly.
