My wife surprised me this morning
I was cooking breakfast for the family this morning and my wife said "for my egg sandwich you can put 2 eggs on 1 piece of toast cut in half, its healthier that way".
I was speechless she loves bread, we have been working on diet for 6 months now and that is the first time she has voluntarily given up bread. I even controlled my response and wasn't sarcastic. I simply said "yes mam". By the way that is the perfect response to 90% of statements made by a wife but I digress. I don't know but this feels like a watershed momemt, a simple yet powerful movement towards better health and longevity. Here is our breakfast Daughter 5: water 2 Eggs sunny side up (she only eats the whites and dips them a little in the yolk) 1 Whole Grain waffle with small amount of maple syrup Son 7: Water 2 Egg Omelette with lean turkey and small amount of cheddar cheese 1 Piece multi grain wheat toast Wife (Best not to mention her age): Water 2 Eggs fried on 1 piece of multi grain wheat toast Me: Water 4 oz ground turkey burger 3 Eggs all scrambled together All in all I am pretty darn happy with the way breakfast is going the first 2 weeks of school. |

My boys prefer meat. My daughter prefers fruit and yogurt.
Or hashbrowns. And pancackes. I want to try that stuff on Robb Wolf's blog for breakfast one of these days. |

Robb certainly is inspirational
Dinner: 6 OZ Turkey Burger Ton of Brussel Sprouts Black Bean, Cilantro, Tomato and Corn in red wine vinaigrette, I picked out the tomato's but my wife loves them. Unfortunately I realized I wanted to take a picture after I had started eating. Brussel Sprouts do wonders for my digestive tract apparently. :D ![]() Breakfast the next morning: Broccoli Left over turkey burger 3 Eggs all scrambled together ![]() I took these pictures for a friend that has diabetes and I am trying to provide motivation for him to adopt a more carb controlled lifestyle. |

Congrats Derek!
It is always nice when the preaching pays off. My two older kids, well I make them drink a shake in the morning but other then that I got tired off trying to feed them eggs. My three year old drinks a little shake and eats an egg on Mon-Wed-Fri and gets cereal on Tue-Thurs. It is a compromise. I have gotten my wife to go on a shake and egg diet for breakfast unless her work provides food. She usually takes a boiled egg with her to work. The shake I make is spinach with banana, blueberries, rasberries/black berries, strawberries and then some other fruit. I try to put around 6 cups of spinach in it. Cheers Bri |

Hats off to you folks with kids...we have not entered that fun yet. Good job balancing those issues. |
