In Robb Wolf's article '42 ways to skin the zone' he talked about utilising the zone to gain lean muscle, and the gradual increase in blocks, but then every 6th day cycling back down to the a base zone of 16 blocks (or whatever your base zone is depending on lbm and BF%).
Was just curious about how and why this tactic works and how it effects your protein utilisation and metabolism. If anyone knows anything about the subject I would love to find out more about it or if anyone could point me in the direction of some relevant reading (book/journal) that would be great because I've been unable to find anything my self!
