Article Against Whey
Just found this while searching for recipes to use with my new hemp protein powder. Not sure how credible this guy is, but it's pretty interesting. Sorry if its been posted before, couldn't find it in a search.
http://www.proteinbreakthrough.com/ (wfs) Just confirms for me (and I'm sure everyone else that eats paleo) that whey is garbage. And its nice to know – in his opinion at least – that hemp is all right. |
I am wary of any article like that, which is basically an advertisement for Hemp protein.
Plus it is fishy as hell that he blames whey for the GH gut, when we all know that abusing HGH is responsible for the internal organs growing and distending the gut like that. In the "old days" pro BB'ers used basic testosterone to lift, nowadays they use designer drugs, HGH, insulin, thyroid pills, diuretics, etc.. which makes a major difference in the appearance of the physique, not whey. I use Whey and have no issues with it, but I do know that my personal favourite protein is pure egg white powder. http://www.sportprotein.com w/f/s |
Regardless of that author's intent (I don't want to read it all), it is no coincidence that the biggest players in the protein market, soy and whey, are both by-products of their respective industries.
Somebody figured out how to sell them. I get bloated after whey protein, not hGH-gut type bloat, but any dairy makes for some swelling in my guts. |
Out of habit, I'd been mixing one scoop of whey protein in with yogurt for my morning breakfast (among some fruit, etc). Quick, easy, makes for good protein intake.
All until I had my blood checked for physical and my kidney numbers were high. Per my doctor, this was likely due to whey protein (and/or the other ingredients mixed in). And this was run-of-the-mill protein from local Vitamin World. Testimony: +1 for dropping the fake/manufactured food and eating real food. Kidneys will thank you. |

Everything about that article is a giant red flag, starting with "proteinbreakthrough.com"
