Matt's Log
Hello, I'm starting this log with the hope of gaining insight from others. Also, I think having a log will help me be able to chart my progress.
Stats Age: 18 Height: 5'7 or so Weight: Between 175-180 Lifts These are all relatively accurate estimates, but I'm not exactly sure what my current 1RM's are.(all in pounds) Bench: 225 Squat: 310 Deadlift: 405 Press: 145 My goals include becoming as strong and athletic as I can and I hope to compete in powerlifting competitions in the future. My lift goals(within 1 yearor thereabouts) a 500lb deadlift, a 275 bench, a 420 squat, and a 185 press. I'm currently following Wendler's 5/3/1 and I see no reason to change off it. I'm open and want any and all critique/suggestions. |

I'm currently on the second week of my third 5/3/1 cycle. Today was squat day. All weights in pounds. Squat 3x195 3x220 11x250 5x3x225 Standing Band Crunches 3x15 Trap Bar Deadlift 5x5x225 |

Military Press 3x85 3x100 9x110 Dips 10,10,8,9,8,6,4=55 Chin-ups 10,10,9,7,8,6,5=55 Expected at least 1 or 2 more reps on Press. Disappointed but not too surprised considering I'm moving out and going through finals. |

Deadlift 3x245 3x280 13x315 Power Clean 2x155 2x165 2x175 2x180 2x180 Sit-ups 3x15 I haven't power cleaned since high school, and then getting 145 was a big accomplishment. I have the worst clean form ever, but I don't really care. I figure if I can get the weight up with terrible form, it just means I'm stronger. Hit my goal for deadlift today. |
