IF and Mass Gain

Seeing how Mass Gain is a popular subject...lets keep it rolling.

Does IF have a place in a Mass Gain cycle? If so when?

My guess, on off days with no training it may have an advantage in enhancing insulin sensitivity so on workout days PWO feedings get an enhanced response? But would you also get that with a low carb/high fat approach on off days...and carb load PWO on workout days?

i love IF, but when i needed to gain weight again, i found it impossible to get enough calories into a compressed window. it worked early on, but as my caloric needs increased with my weight, i just couldn't do it. i think maybe 1-2 days/week is possible as long as in that week there is an adequate calorie surplus. but for people who struggle to gain, the last think i want them to do is limit the amount of time they have to eat.

Greg are you implementing any rules for your gaining weight....ratios during meals....staying paleo.....massive PWO intakes....or is it everything must go sale at the buffet line?

I'm very curious about this as well. I've been doing alternate day fasting which I really, really like. I figure 2000 cals (one meal, 3 hours before bed) on off days and 6000-8000 cals on workout days (3, maybe 4 days per week) might be pretty potent.

I've been tinkering with the whole 60%+ of my carb and protein intake in 2hr PWO window (in a pre-post drink, 1hr feeding, 2hr feeding).....my AMs are light...as I don't like eating a ton in the morning....makes me groggy.

That leaves my non workout days lighter on the food side...but I still tend to be gaining 1-2lbs a week.

i go for the garbage disposal approach and just try to eat as much as possible. i do make quality protein a priority. i just want to get to 95-96 kg and then go back to more controlled eating to maintain.
