Moving on- After reading "Kicking the MetCon Habit"
I've been crossfitting for about two years now- Followed SS then onto the gant grimes hybrid program. After reading this artical I've realised I pretty much fit into this picture!
But I'm pretty lost at the moment on what I should move onto next. Does anyone have any suggestions on programs that I could follow or put me in the right direction? |
What are your goals?

Sorry I'm new to the forum!
I enjoy crossfit all and all but the training is leaving me in a bad way. I like the strength/ oly lifting side of the Hybrid program and I honestly think it's adding up to be a bit much too. I'd really like to keep it in and around the same kind of thing but was wondering if there is a better approach to it all. I've got in pretty good shape with the hybrid too..and would like to keep my build..or even pack on a bit of size! So pretty much a strength/oly program with conditioning in a smart way that isnt going to leave me in the state of overtraining... |
Are you training for anything in particular? That helps people with their answers....i.e. I want to look better, I want to play sport XYZ better, I want to be able to back squat 400 pounds....etc.

Have you tried the Catalyst Athletics Workouts? They sound like they are exactly what you want. |
Sorry for the late reply. I'm after a program that'll make me look/feel better and keep healthy. I'm not really enjoying training crossfit and finding its just leaving me burned out beyond anything.
I took a bit of time away to try and rest up thus the late reply. I usually train at home but I do goto a crossfit gym 2/3 times a week. So I have alot of gear to work with at home. Thanks for all the help and sorry if this is confusing or anything. |
It can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it.
First: address any weaknesses that you may have and work on them. Do the 4 lifts-Squat;Deadlift;Benchpress; Shoulder Press. Long Slow Distance for endurance base. Stretch constantly Find a sport/activity that you enjoy and pursue it HAVE FUN WORK SENSIBLY |
Try Coach Rut's WODs. Simple, reasonable progression and very sustainable, with the right dose of intensity to (as he says) "stimulate, not annihilate."
