UMCP Gymnastics on TV, 9pm EST this Tuesday
As a heads up for all you guys, the University of Maryland acro/gymnastics club ("Gymkana") is going to be live on TV tomorrow night for the America's Got Talent semi-finals. Steve Low and I have been with the team for a number of years, and while neither of us will personally be performing, I'd encourage you all to check it out.
For those of you who missed it, this was the routine that got us through the quarter-finals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZDV3_HLVq0
They've been keeping their practices all very hush-hush, so I don't know what to tell you what to expect other than something awesome. It's on NBC, at 9pm EST, and after the show ends, you can cast your votes for the best act through either calling, texting, or the web (or all three!).
Just coming back here to report on the performance. It went all right, but wasn't our best, and it didn't get us to the final round. Personally, I preferred the quarter-finals routine - I think the Hollywood choreographers and costume designers we were working with on this round went a bit overboard. Plus, there was that snafoo with the Ring of Fire, but the way I see it, that just gave us a little bit of that NASCAR effect.
