Snatch critique (first proper lift)
Up until today my snatch was pretty much a power snatch followed by an OHS..

Well I got the two somewhat fused together and today's 60kg attempt came out smoother. I'd appreciate any feedback. Quick background, I've been lifting for about 4 months and also self taught.

Today's 80kg snatch PR.

Awaiting some constructive criticism! :)

Good job on the PR!

What I notice most on both videos is you have a tendency to swing the bar out after you extend. I would suggest working on muscle snatches where you really focus on keeping the bar close and pushing the bar straight over your neck. From there once you are consistently keeping it close you can work on tall snatches and working pulling yourself straight under the bar.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Steve, I appreciate the reply. I am aware of that problem for sure and I'm working on fixing it.. the coach I train with from time to time is trying to get me to extend with my hips but also to teach me to drive the bar upwards and not only outwards.
