Well, I'm pretty disappointed with how I did, but then there's always next time.

Here are some vids I took...sorry for the quality as my tiny camera is the sh!ts and the pits.

My teammate Jess (69kg):
-Jess qualifying for Nationals with this Clean and Jerk!:
-Another C&J:

My teammate Dennis C&J:

Teammate Jeff:

Team Conn.'s Gary Valentine snatching 115kg I think:

Local national-level lifter Ericka Dice:

Local lifter Mark Louros:

I've attached the 1 photo I took: me, and a few of my teammates who stuck around till late: John (a.k.a Bastardo), Dennis, and Jess.

Ah, good times. Soon you'll be in the club! When's our next meet?!

Gary Valentine 04-15-2007 07:31 AM

nice meeting you yoon! you looked really good on that 70 snatch. im sure you'll wait for the down signal all the time now.
i was certainly not my best that day, tho i came out with 3 New End Masters records (114/156/270.) i had com, peted 3 weeks ago in new jersey where i was not coaching. here is attempt at 122 national masters snatch that day.

i waqs coaching all day ay lbh, and while all my athletes improved nicely, it was a bit much for me to shoot for PR's again just 3 weeks later. now that ive got all the excuses out of the way...:-) -g

It was nice meeting you too Gary! Impressive job with the lifting and you've got a great team as well.
I'll see you August 5th at the Conn. Open.

...and yes, I'll never again drop a weight before the down signal (I'm sure my teammates will take pleasure in reminding me of that this week, haha).

Nice videos Yoon, good numbers! Sucks about the insomnia screwing it up for you. Figure that out yet?

Yuen Sohn 04-16-2007 06:18 AM

Oh, here's 1 more vid I forgot to link...local 85kg lifter Frank Murray:

I think I will invest in a tripod and real camcorder in the near future ;)

Allen: I have no idea what was up with the insomnia. I was a bit nervous (but in a good way), but I've never had a problem this bad even before much more stressful events. Actually, it turns out my strength was ok, it's just my coordination was a bit off and of course my overall mental clarity! Despite that, overall, I had a great time watching everyone else lift and hanging out.

Mike: I'm eating tons. Which leads me to...

...John: At the rate I'm eating, I will join Club Bastardo in leapfrogging over the 85kg class to the 94s (from a starting weight of 71.5)!
