I caught some of the European Championships on Eurosport the other day. It was the Women's 53kg class Clean & Jerk.
I was interested to see that the majority of competitors favoured the power jerk over the split jerk.
The winner, a Romanian girl who got 104kg in the C&J was powercleaning her efforts, the other girls were all squat cleaning. Having won with a lift spare she had a go at the Championship record and attempted 116kg with a squat clean but she missed at the bottom of the squat.
Pyrros Dimas broke a WR at 96 Olympics w/a 213cj and he push jerked. He changed from the Split jerk a few years earlier. Kakhiashvili cj'd 235 the same way. It's more efficient in that you dont have to move as far. Your flexibility needs to be sound. Alot of the chinese do it as well.
