I've been running around my warehouse the last couple of weeks with a hex trap (shrug) bar. Next GetUp, I explain a simple workout that involves deads and carries together.
It has really helped my grip, so I've stopped using straps for SGDLs. What ever I back squat, I follow up with SGDL's at the same weight. So back to the deadlift, after a hard workout with the trap bar and back squats, I pulled an easy 345# dead. I didn't have time or the desire to go higher, but my official PR is 360. In the fall, I worked hard on rack pulls from the knee, maxing out at 575. I know I'm a lot stronger now. Doing farmer's walks with about 325 on the trap bar is paying off fast.
