Haven't read "lights out", but is the biggest issue the release of GH for tissue repair? I know it said that 75% of our total GH comes during the first 3 hours of sleep between 10-1am. I imagine messing with our natural bio-rythms for sleep only diminishes the amount of GH, lessens the anabolic part of sleep and increases the catabolic effect. Just guessing.
