Several theories out there; metabolites and transporters, variations in p450 activity and pharmacokinetics, drug-drug interaction, ubiquitin proteasome pathway problems, etc. etc. Just off the top of my head, I’m sure there is more information out there, probably on wikipedia by now.

I think you’re right Robb, statins appear to have anti-inflammatory effects in several systems. Very interesting research going on in that realm, but I’m sworn to secrecy.

Cytochrome p450’s, skeletal muscle machinery/biochemistry...… mixing steroids and statins..... that is just really stupid.
