Ahh the joys of conjunctivitis. Just remember to wash your hands and don't rub your face at all! No touching period. We have had pink eye in our house probably 3 to 4 times in the last 4 years and I only caught it once which was about a month ago. Really the main thing is wash all the time and don't touch your face. If your wife gets drops she will be fine in a couple of days.
