I agree with Joe. Yes, with sub-optimal technique it won't deliver quite the same results, but you're going to be able to improve your technique substantially. Hang out here, post videos, ask questions, watch videos, look at photos... It will come together for you.
I would recommend, however, starting with a strength cycle rather than with the current one. In 3 weeks, we'll be starting a new 16-wk cycle - that would be the ideal time to jump in. Until then, get as much tech practice in as you can.
