That's about what my sanchin test in Shorin-ryu was like. In my instructor's garage, with him and his buddy (a Chito-ryu instructor) walking around, tugging on limbs, kicking and punching, occasionally mocking and tsk-tsking. It was hard, but since we did lots of hard-contact sparring it wasn't that scary to do. It just took some concentration so I'd remember all the steps.
The version of sanchin we did had closed fists to Uechi-ryu's spear hand strikes, though. Otherwise, it looked about the same. Fun kata to practice.
