I actually invented my recipe because my brain is wired to for some reason like the way I make it. I say, make up your own recipe with what you like and go for it!
I hunt each year and make it with deer as well. I need to find a new supplier of organic buffalo to make it with that. I've kind of put jerky on the side during my latest craze of smoking meat. The brisket I made yesterday was completely delish.
