Personally, I push jerk the bar into position from a snatch grip behind the neck.
Would you be able to do dead stop OHS from a rack? In other words, does your gym have a power rack? Can you set the pins about chest high, then get into position under the bar and raise the bar from the bottom position?
One limiting factor is the grip on the bar and the width of the rack. It's for tha reason, I prefer to use my jerk boxes. I made mine up to 51" which is perfect for me to dead stop bottom positions OHS.
