good exercise. always somewhat of a risk to place your c-spine in loaded hyperextension... but better to do that in a controlled, safe manner to get strong and prepared for when it happens in a non-controlled, non-safe manner.
i do it regularly and will even hold DBs or the like overhead to add a bit more. just break into it easily, progress gradually, and pay attention - if you start developing pain or some non-good thing, back off and have your shit checked out.
