Anything you can do to increase blood flow to the foot is a good idea.

Contrast hydrotherapy is one.

Low intensity (cold) laser is what I used on my MTP joint when I hyperflexed it doing stupid tumbling in gymnastics (the opposite injury of turf toe). It still took 3-4 months to feel normal.

Traumeel gel and DMSO liquid applications may be something you'd like to Google more on.
