The last couple years I've grabbed a 1/4 beef and split it with my dad but this appeals to me more because (a) its + lamb, pork, chicken (b) its not just the one animal (c) its fresher.. especially since most bulk purchases are made in the fall, by the time the summer months come around that meat has been frozen for many months (d) less freezer space required- i dont have a deep freezer except at my parents.
