I posted up on the Whole9 blog, but I'll put my thoughts here as well. I think that people should shoot for the lower number as the goal, but have a short period where they need to overload. For example, if you're injured or (as the calculator says) obese, start with the high doses for 1-4 weeks and then start cutting back. Your body should start to change and should require less fish oil as long as your diet and activity level are balanced.
