try some muscle snatches and see what happens with the bar--keep it as close to you as possible.

generally, the bar is pulled essentially straight up, and as you and yoon said, the lifter moves around the bar (or should)--that means he/she must move back a little temporarily.

defnitely put some video on here and we can help out better.
