Interesting, I remember Lyle stating that endurance exercise metabolizes about 5% of protein, up to 10% if done fasted. I guess taking some BCAA's, mainly Leucine would be helpful in reducing the body's store of protein utilization during exercise but the best thing would be to consume adequate calories, especially carbs.
