No, any level of pulmonary edema much like lactate will be reabsorbed by the system within 30 minutes or so... likely 1-2 hours max.
The only reason why you would have it there chronically may be because of congestive heart failure or something which you probably don't have.
Persisting for days is likely a sign of an either allergic reaction or asthma and then some virus/bacteria gets in and starts replicating leading to a slight cough/mucus or somethng or other production for a few days
