There isn't much in the way of an open gym that I know of. Cal Strength is probably the best choice. This area isn't great for people who want to lift or workout in a non-douche manner.
Depending on the time of day Cal Strength should be less than a half hour. I don't think that the Y that used to be in Livermore is even open anymore. Used to run gymnastics and stuff, but I think it closed.
On Powerlifting watch, I did a search and saw "Prevail Fitness", which I think was Reactive Gym. I think that may be the local CF affiliate. I really don't know.
And if you don't think kettleball squat cleans are difficult, I say, step up to the med-ball
