Newark and Fremont are both alright depending on where you end up. San Ramon would be the nicest spot. Parts of Pleasant Hill and Concord are good, but you've got to be kind of careful. Walnut Creek is good, but I don't know what rental costs look like.

San Ramon is definitely the best spot though. If you are looking for standard suburbia, it'll be San Ramon.
