Not necessarily, but if your problem is, as you say, not being aggressive enough in driving under, getting tired first will prevent you from driving the bar as high, which will force you to be more aggressive driving down into the split to make it. Again, this is all based just on what you've said vaguely and I might go about it differently if I actually saw you lift.
