yes. it makes sense. it all comes down to economy of effort. IME, "programs" are useless unless they are focused on a single goal. Having more than one goal is a routine. It doesn't mean you can't be successful over the very long haul with a Plan that incorporates all the things you mentioned but you absolutely need to know the why before you can get to the how.
