Don't change the mechanics of the pull because of that, though. With very light weights, you'll need to reduce the force you put into it, but the movement should never change.

The main thing it sounds like you need to work on is getting your squat up. Pulls are fine, but honestly you can't extend on a pull the way you can in a snatch. Clean pulls will be more helpful for the clean than sn pulls for the sn for that reason.
