Just moved to Berkeley and started getting back into shape using Rippetoe's linear progression. Working out at Ironworks now (climbing gym) but planning on making the journey to Catalyst for Saturday classes.
Any other commuters from up here? Any other Oly resources closer? I want to spend about another month on just the basic lifts, but after that would love to get more involved with weightlifting.
I'm in Oakland and climb at Ironworks occasionally.

California Strength is in San Ramon, so pretty close to Berkeley. Give Glenn Pendlay an e-mail.
Great Western Power Company (the sister gym to Ironworks with reciprocal membership) has actual platforms -- just find out when the CF classes aren't)
CF Oakland has an OL team, but I think you have to be a member
Lots of stuff a bit farther away
If you want to concentrate on OL, Glenn or Greg are your best bets.
I didn't notice any group classes on the website for California Strength, and personal training is a bit out of my budget for now. But I'll send the email and find out what the options are.
