Default Training even when fatigued?

I try to squeeze in 2 BJJ sessions and also 2-3 weight sessions a week for mass gain purposes.
My question is, if im tired(not muscle aches/doms, but systematic fatigue perhaps due to lack of sleep), is it worth doing a weights session? Id assume that testosterone would be low if youre tired, so it may defeat the purpose..

My rule of thumb if I feel really tired is to start the workout and, if after the first 10 minutes, I don't feel energized, to either give it up or more often move to a stretching or less strenuous routine.

A lot of times, particularly when one is not young or has job and other stressors, it's as much a mental thing, as a physical.

Tough to tell. A lite, easy session may actually pepe you up. You really have to feel that stuff out. Lack of sleep is a killer any way you cut it however.

I have been doing what you are asking for the last 40 days. I agree with both Robb and Elliot it is hard to tell when you are zonked. I really focus on recovery. I try to get a minimum of 7 hours sleep a night and when I am trashed I will go to bed at the same time my kids do.

The other consideration is what you are training for, is mass gain more important then BJJ or BJJ more important then mass gain?

I lift in the mornings at 6:00 am before I go to work and roll in the evenings usually 2 - 2:30 hours a night. If you look under the training log section of the forum you can see my mass gain, bjj and diet log and I think Elliot has one there also (I believe his is more focused on O lifting).
