in this instance, i think it is possible to be too thorough--consider the audience. the dvds are being used by athletes with little or no access to qualified coaches and who have no real experience with the lifts. casey burgener or natalie wolfolk or aimee anaya don't need instructional videos. so being intentionally geared toward novices, you can definitely dilute the important stuff with a bunch of extraneous shit that really is just in there to make the makers sound smarter (in my cynical opinion).

here's my review of the WCC videos I've had them for a while and reviewed them recently...

They are good but they are geared to the Coach who is considering implementation of the lifts into an S&C program. Not geared to the self learner, hence the information overload I think is necessary in the effect that as a coach you need to know this shit but as a novice lifter its way overload...

My best description would be this:

Coach with no lifting experience watches videos thinks "I need to go work with an Experienced O-Lifting coach and put this shit into practice before it really makes any sense"
