Default How do you make your Tuna?

Hey Guys/Gals--

About 1 time per week when I am not eating Salmon, I like to enjoy a can of tuna for my protein source.

I am sick of eating it plain. Sick of it eating with relish and some light mayo.

Any other good recipes for it? Healthy of course

I dice up some tomatoes, shallots, and avocado. No mayo or anything. Sounds kinda gross, but it is actually really good. and you get your fat in there!

This may sound weird.... A1 steak sauce. try it.

Also, try a little sesame oil and soy sauce. That's pretty good too.

One of my favorites is: add 1tsp of dijon mustard, 1tsp of capers, and 1tsp of olive oil...

Smooth and yummy!

Olive oil, dijon mustard, chopped pickles (ie relish without sugar), pepper. Sometimes I'll add some cumin. And hot sauce sometimes.

I don't understand why people are so big on tuna... its a huge fish so high potential for toxicity and it doesnt have any of the healthy fats of some other fish.

If you are gonna eat it tho, its pretty easy to just throw in with vegetables in a frying pan and use whatever sauce you would for the veggies (ie. tamari).. tuna doesnt have an overwhelming taste so it goes with most sauces.

I like the tuna burger from the PM. Roughly 1 egg to 1 can tuna, salt/pepper, I use some dry chopped onion, and a spoon of almond butter. 2/3 cup scoop fried in EVOO is about 4 blocks and off we go. I make 8-10 at a time and keep then in the fridge for a quick lunch.

Canned tuna comes from young fish rather than the old ones that your steak comes from. Consuming young tuna is the same as consuming the smaller, non-"top of the food chain" fish (such as shark, tuna, and swordfish). I wouldn't say "it doesn't have any of the healthy fats" either...it may have a lower content, but all fish have omega-3s. As salmon is quite strong, if the choice is for someone to eat tuna as their seafood of choice or no fish as their seafood of choice, tuna is the best option.
