Got this in my email from Coach Sommer.


I was most intrigued by this part:

I mean when I did my +70 lbs MU at 130-135 lbs bodyweight about 1.5 months ago.. it was pretty much what you would call strict.

However, it IS possible to kip with that weight because I could feel that I could control it through the transition if I had wanted to. Would I want to kip it? No, it's pretty dangerous trying to move that much weight & be dynamically dropping into the bottom of a dip...

I don't know if Sommer means kipping a MU as in CF or kipping as in outlined in the BtGB book. Seriously, his example of a kip is pulling with the feet in front, so the body is around 60 degrees off vert, then swinging the feet back to transition into the dip.

Pretty sure though he's talking about a CF style kip though.

You have pure raw strength from years of dedication and progressive effort though!
