Where on earth did you read this?

Following what Steven said, you get your GH peak early in your sleep. So don't eat anything that's going to interfere with going to sleep or disturb you in the first few hours of sleep.

Only reason I could see any logic for this is if your last meal is still 3 hours before bedtime....so your blood sugar spikes and then you are going to bed as it crashes....setting up a large GH response if the insulin is low.
