evidence for icing for recovery
its been well established that application of cold-modalities for >30minutes or that are <10 C can produce a reflexive vasodilation following vasoconstriction, but i haven't been able to find any research that supports the use of this phenomena for improving post-workout recovery.
does anybody know of there is any actual research or is this mainly through anecdotal evidence?

Not much hard research, but brought to this country around the turn of the century by some of the first naturopaths.

Studies have found it to be ineffective.
But the anecdotal evidence for it helping is enormous. I'd likely speculate that the cumulative effects per one session are minimal, but you may see a significant difference with multiple ones over a period of time.

I'm totally doing the ice bath after my next HG. Those things beat the crap out of a guy.
