60 an hour is an average rate, some places get 100 and up.

package deals are different obviously, but even still you don't cut your own balls off.

you are running a business, you can't work for peanuts. we provide a specialized service, and I like to think that I know my shit (for the most part) so if someone hires me they are getting their money's worth.

I liked it a lot.

Going into a sales pitch with an aggressive approach makes people put walls up and prevents them from talking about their kids and themselves. Make them trust you (albeit a small trust but necessary for a business relationship) and they will feel more comfortable trusting their kids to your care.

I really liked this point as it is something I deal with on a day to day basis. As well, when the usual CF gyms start throwing out buzzwords is just about the same time I want to turn off.

I agree, I don't like the whole buzzword mentality of the fitness industry at all. Of course you want a slick marketing campaign but you don't want to seem cheesy or idiotic.

Buzzwords are a double edged sword. It's like business lingo ("seamless integration," "robust solution," etc.). People rely on things that sound familiar to them. Most people don't know what credentials are important or even if you need them. They just want something that sounds mainstream because mainstream must be effective. Until someone has developed a solid reputation, some reliance on buzzwords may be necessary.
