Default Snatch Heavy Singles

I can see the myself catching the bar on my toes in both reps. Any cues for that?
And any other comments are welcome, help me to realize my faults.

These were heavy singles for the day, the first is 175, the second 180. 205 is my max. Went up to something that felt good. Both video's are WFS

Just watched it in frame by frame:

The extension is the culprit, see how you're bending backwards? its pushing the bar forward just a tad, but you're able to catch it, however when you get under it, because you bumped it forward, its just so many inches in front, and that so many inches forward is the reason why you land/balance on your toes, because the bar was sprung at a forward angle with the back/hip bend. You can see the balancing act right when you land then pull yourself backwards. You'll also see the forward bar movement if video taping directly at the side. The cue would to work on that extension where its like you're standing erect and straight, flat footed (which is tough) rather than bending. When you miss, is it forward?

By the way, what's your bw? That's looking good.

Wow Andrew that actually helps very much.

Thanks, I appreciate the time you took to break it down frame by frame. So, I am overextending In my second pull. I hear you and I will work on snatch and clean pulls with flat feet. I actually just added them into my program, and was wondering why they were so difficult for me to get the hang of. I can probably generate more force by staying on my heels longer, and more importantly it will help fix that positioning issue. And yes, I have never missed backward, so it all makes sense.

I weigh 158-160 lbs. Id Like to compete in weightlifting Andrew, I'm working on it, along with trying the crossfit games next year. FOr now, I am weightlifting. My goals are a 250 snatch and a 300 lb clean and jerk by this time next year, very plausible i tihnk. I just need to be safe and find a coach.
