I knew I was fidgeting for a reason, just trying to save my own life...heh.
Interesting points raised in the article. I liked the part at the end:

We visited a chairless first-grade classroom where the students spent part of each day crawling along mats labeled with vocabulary words and jumping between platforms while reciting math problems.

kinda sucks though that the number 1 factor that correlates with poor health outcomes is income. if you can somehow find a way to make a lot of money without sitting behind a desk, then you'll have a long ass life.
My boss was cool enough to pay for my desk to be modified. It is a modular desk, but some warranty prevented me from doing it myself. I am still stationary for part of the day, but at least I'm not sitting.
yeah i recently tried converting to a standing desk. the problem is that i wanted to do it to help correct my shoulder issues, but then i found that while standing i still tensed my shoulders. i can better relieve my shoulder strain right now while sitting but with keyboard and mouse height adjustments. maybe once my shoulders get better, i can get off my ass and add years to my life.
