Pullups?

Pushups?

Where does it end?

So what you're saying is that you can't define what separates a Crossfit workout from a non-Crossfit workout?

So everything is Crossfit?

Gotcha.

If you can't do one, then you would be allowed to do the other. What is the difference?
Crossfit isn't the deadlift, it isn't pushups, it isn't pullups, it isn't the snatch, it isn't the clean and jerk.
What Crossfit is, is how they use the deadlift, pushup, pullup, snatch, and clean and jerk. Its the method they use them. In this case doing so many 2 reps probably isn't going to be an issue, but doing so many 2 reps of deadlifts with electrical shock pullups and handstand pushups and ghd situps inbetween probably will. And I think this is what the gym is refering too, and I think that's probably what the difference is.

If that is what you are reading, then yes. If you define it differently, then no. I just don't like the knee-jerk reactions from some front desk person in a gym somewhere.

Post what exactly is not allowed, not some generality.

Might as well say the same thing about CFHQ.

Post exactly what is Crossfit, not some generality.

Countless times have I seen: "Oh, the Games competitors still follow Crossfit, they just don't do mainsite." Well, what is Crossfit, then?

Is it "constantly varied, high intensity functional movement"? Well that's what athletes in nearly every single sport do, albeit with a little less variation. Michael Phelps does a functional movement at high intensity, and he doesn't do the same thing every day, so it's constantly varied. Also, Tyson Gay. Also, Behdad Salimi. Also, Roger Federer. So are they doing Crossfit? You'd be delusional to say yes.
Once you claim ownership/membership to something you can't exactly define, you are left with nothing meaningful.

But then again, I could be wrong. Glassman says he has Fran times for all the Indianapolis Colts.

If you do that, you get lawyering. It's like an anti-trolling policy on a message board. Only the people behaving impolitely really need to have it hammered out for them beyond "NO TROLLING". Everybody else who behaves politely has very no problem. Assuming everybody involved is cool. Some people, though, with the slightest bit of authority, turn into dickheads. The problem with CrossFitters in many gyms isn't just a couple easy behaviors to list, it's a constellation (just like trolling) of things that abuse equipment, annoy other patrons, and raise risk of injury.

Bryan just can't resist coming back in here and defending @fit - even though he HIMSELF doesn't even do @fit.

Classic.
