Default Paleo + ?

If I am eating a good paleo diet what might I need to supplement with as "insurance" I am currently considering zinc and magnesium is there anything else I am statistically likely to be deficient in? Why do people take the pro biotic stuff if you are eating paleo is this necessary what would be an indicator that this is something you might need?

Hey Kevin!!
I think the Zinc/Magnesium idea is good. See the ZMA thread for more details and Protein Power: LifePlan-chapter "The Magnesium Miracle" for great info.

You might throw down a multi-b a few times per week. Fish oil...perhaps Alpha-lipoic acid. As a baseline I think that is a pretty good place to start, and may be all you need. Probiotics used to be consumed in our water and when we ate the gut contents of ruminants (yum). I think this is an emerging area of research that will have some important thigns to say about health.
