Balancing out the fats
Hiya,
Looking for some advice on fat intake...
I'm currently doing a mass cycle and have ramped up my fat intake considerably. Current ratios PRO/CHO/FAT = 26/19/55. Total calories approx 3000 with 1.5g of protein per pound of bodyweight.
With trying to consume extra fat I'm doing the "can of coconut milk and whey protein shake" approach and with extra olive oil my fat ratios are pretty heavily skewed towards saturated and monounsaturated fats.
So, long story short - should I be taking in extra polyunsaturated fats like walnut oil to balance things out?
Cheers,
Chris

If you are taking some fish oil and doing your best to get grassfed/wild animal protein, I don't think you need any extra.
You might want to mention any fatty acid supps you are taking...

Dont worry about the PUFAs (not including fish oil)....I am sure you get plenty from sources you have no idea about (omega 6s in general). Now if you get a papercut and start to bleed to death...then you may need some extra omega 6s. Eat some nuts every now and then if you are sweating it.

Thanks,
I'm purely going by fitday stats and I plug everything into that incl. 5g fish oil.
currently my sat fat and mono percentages are 3x that of the PUFAs - was just wondering if there were any problems with that.

None that I know of. If you'd like to do a fatty acid cell membrane analysis, PM me, I can get that done for you. It's not something I use much.

How much fish oil would you need to be taking to worry about bleeding ?

I knew a guy who had a clotting issue when he was taking 15g of EPA a day, other than that I wouldn't know.
15g of EPA a day (not total fish oil, that would have been A LOT higher) is a TON.
