Default Question about bar use

Those of you that have an OLY bar...Do you squat and press with it also? Is the action (whip) of an OLY bar beneficial in such cases or does it really matter? I have a Pendlay bar that I OLYlift exclusively with and squat and press with a normal bar. I am just lazy and try set everything up to have as little changing as possible.

We all use the same bar for every exercise. We move it from the snatch to the jerk to the squat to the pull to the press. There is no need to switch around.

That would have to be a heck of a pressing weight to have ANY whip action on the bar...

DR. G is right unless you bench big time wts you will not notice a difference. For big big benchers an o-lifting bar is not good as there isn't a whip that helps them up but simply a bend that tends to just "wrap" around the chest and sit there...for big time benching you need a stiff bar.
